Meet the Craftsman

The Hands Behind the Work

My first word was "ball."

I suppose that tells you just about everything you need to know about how early my love of baseball began.

I'm Pat Kellner, the founder and craftsman behind The Craftsman's Works.

I've played baseball my entire life. But alongside that love for the game, I've always had a passion for art, craftsmanship, and bringing old things back to life.

In high school, I relaced my first baseball glove. I discovered something that brought all those interests together. A baseball glove wasn't just another piece of equipment. It was something I could take apart, understand, rebuild, and make beautiful again.

For years, I simply worked on gloves for friends and people I knew. I enjoyed the process, but never really thought of it as a business.

Then one day, I decided to post a video of a glove restoration on TikTok.

People watched it.

So I posted another. And another.

Before I knew it, what had started as a hobby had become The Craftsman's Works.

More Than Just a Glove

Over the years, I've had the opportunity to work on some remarkable gloves, including those belonging to professional baseball players.

But the gloves that stay with me aren't necessarily the rarest, most expensive, or most famous.

They're the ones with stories.

I've worked on gloves that belonged to fathers who have passed away, gloves that families want to preserve because they're a connection to someone they love.

One of the most meaningful projects I've ever worked on came from a father who sent me the glove of his son who had passed away.

I still think about that one.

Experiences like that remind me that what I do goes far beyond replacing laces or cleaning leather.

Sometimes, it's about helping someone hold on to a memory.

And that story doesn't have to be extraordinary. A glove might mean the world to someone simply because it's the one they used growing up, the one they played catch with their dad, or the one that's been with them through hundreds of games.

That's enough.

Keeping the Story Alive

Every glove deserves thoughtful care, and every customer deserves to know that the things important to them matter to me, too.

I love the craftsmanship. I love the satisfaction of taking something worn and making it beautiful and functional again. And I love being connected to the game that's been such a big part of my life.

But more than anything, I appreciate the opportunity to help keep those stories, memories, and legacies alive.

That's what The Craftsman's Works means to me.

Every glove has a story. My job is to help it continue.
