For Custom Glovework

Have your glove worked on by The Craftsman

The Process

Below is a rundown of how the process works for getting your glove or mitt worked on. Feel free to contact The Craftsman with any questions regarding any step of the process.

1. Contact the Craftsman

  • Reach out via the contact form above, or
  • Use the google form linked here: Glove Work Request
  • Instructions on how to send in your glove or mitt will be included there.

2. Full Care Will Be Given to Your Glove

  • Your glove will be fully broken down, completely cleaned with care, and inspected
  • You will then be contacted via email when to discuss what you want, what issues are seen, and to cover the pricing. No work will be done without your knowledge and consent.
  • Every glove will receive the best possible care. Cleaning with the highest quality cleaners (Leather Spot Cleaner is always used) is done every time. And, every glove will get the proper conditioning that is needed, usually the Texas Two Step condition process, using Glove Lotion and/or Glove Salve.

3. Upon Completion

  • Once the work is completed you will be contacted again.
  • Once the work is paid in full (through Venmo, PayPal, or this website), your glove will ship back to the return address on your form. You will receive tracking information for this.
  • It will feel like Christmas morning when your glove returns back to you all boxed up!

Options and Prices

If you do not see what you are looking for, or want anything specifically done, please feel free to reach out (using the contact link) and let me know what you are wanting.

If you have any questions, do not hesitate to reach out and ask!

*Prices shown are common ranges, but can vary depending on the glove and the work that is needed.

$85 - $105: Basic Service

  • Deep cleaning with Leather Spot Cleaner and other cleaners if necessary.
  • Proper conditioning with premium glove care products (Glove Lotion and Glove Salve.) This usually includes the "Texas Two Step" conditioning process, but can vary depending on what your glove or mitt needs.
  • Relacing with the highest quality laces. Most laces are from the Tennessee Tannery (same tannery used by Rawlings for their laces), but this can vary based on the color you choose. Color choices are almost limitless. If you have an idea, let me know!
  • Replacing and/or adding palm adhesive (if needed, requested, or recommended. We can discuss this if you would like.)

$60 - $80: Repainting or Re-dying the Lettering

  • This can do as much as anything to bring the look of "new" or "custom" to your glove or mitt.
  • Each letter or design is meticulously hand painted by The Craftsman.
  • Colors can match the original colors of the glove, or you can choose something wild for a custom, one-of-a-kind look.

$60 - $160: Re-dying the leather

  • Bring back the original look and color of your old glove or mitt, or find a truly unique and custom color for your glove.
  • Can help protect the longevity of your leather.
  • Unless otherwise requested, all leather will also be sealed and conditioned to preserve the color as long as possible.

$30 - $60: Thumb and/or Pinky Loop Replacement

  • The thumb and pinky loops can be replaced on most glove

$30 - $70: Palm Padding

  • Padding can be added or replaced into the palm of the glove
  • Traditional leather padding and extra palm adhesive is an option
  • High-tech, modern SHOCKTec padding or other shock absorbing option are available!

$20 - $120: Leather patch repairs

  • These prices vary depending on the severity of damage, where the damage is located, and the work required to repair the damage.
  • Patching is often needed around the web, where the index and middle fingers meet, and on the hand stall (inner palm).
  • Repairs can help a glove last longer, but will not last forever under heavy use.

$80 - $275: Binding Repair or Replacement

  • Binding will be replaced or patched with high quality leather, often many times better than what was originally on the glove
  • Everything is carefully HAND SEWN, not machine is used, to try and reuse the same holes that were originally used. This helps preserve your leather a little more, as new holes are not punched through.

Custom Painting and Customizations

  • Prices vary
  • Team logos, names, flags, etc. can all be added.

Hand-Stall Re-Builds and Web Replacements/Changes

  • Reach out for pricing.

For any other requests or questions, please do not hesitate to reach out and discuss through the contact link on this website.

Current Lead Time and Rush Option

Times can vary wildly depending on the amount of work each glove in front of yours requires. I do my best to keep you as updated as possible, but please be patient as you wait for your glove or mitt restoration. Quality takes time.

The current lead time for most services is around 14-18 weeks.

In the interest of fairness, I work on gloves in the order that I receive them. However, there is a "rush option" listed below.

Rush Option is Available - Reach out for Details

  • This rush option will move your glove to the top of the worklist, only behind any other "rush" projects I received before yours.
  • This usually gets your glove back in 1-3 weeks.
