Fanatics Fest Recap: Two Days on the MLB stage with The Craftsman’s Works

There are some moments in business that make you stop and think, “How did this even happen?”

For The Craftsman’s Works, spending two days at Fanatics Fest NYC as part of the MLB booth was definitely one of those moments.

What started as a small business built around baseball glove care, glove repair, relacing, restoration, and a love for the history of the game turned into an opportunity to bring that work to one of the biggest baseball and sports events of the year.

And it was incredible.

Two Days at Fanatics Fest

Over the course of the weekend, I had the chance to be part of the MLB booth, talk baseball, work on gloves on the MLB stage, meet fans, and share a little bit of what The Craftsman’s Works is all about.

One of the best parts of the experience was getting to meet so many people who genuinely love the game. Some were collectors. Some were players. Some were parents. Some just stopped by because they saw a baseball glove being relaced and wanted to know more.

Those are always some of my favorite conversations.

Baseball gloves have a way of pulling stories out of people. Everyone has a glove they remember. A first glove. A dad’s old glove. A glove they used in high school. A glove they wish they still had. That connection is a huge part of why I love this work.

Relacing Two Custom Gloves

While I was there, I also relaced two custom gloves that are now available for sale on the website.

These gloves are not just display pieces. They are custom gloves that were worked on during the Fanatics Fest weekend and finished with the same care and attention I try to put into every glove that comes across my bench.

Each one has its own look, feel, and personality, and now they carry a little piece of this Fanatics Fest experience with them.

More Than Just an Event

For me, Fanatics Fest was more than just a trip to New York or a chance to be at a major sports event.

It was a reminder of what this business is built on.

The Craftsman’s Works has grown one glove, one repair, one product, one video, and one customer at a time. Every bottle of glove care product, every relace, every restored glove, every shirt, and every person who has followed along has helped make opportunities like this possible.

Being able to stand there, work on gloves, talk about craftsmanship, and represent this small baseball business in that setting was something I will never forget.
